In 2008, people fell in love with the idea of buying food from a truck. Crazy right? But the food truck obsession wasn’t just a small-town fad. It became huge all over the world! Taco trucks, sandwich trucks, ice cream trucks, juice trucks - if you can name it, serve it from a truck.

The 83 Custom Coffee Truck opened in 2018 on a brisk January day. You may think that opening an outside restaurant would be crazy in the dead of winter, but this was and still remains a huge hit in the city of High Point, North Carolina. There is a little sitting area in a building next to the truck that is modern chic accented with white couches and wooden tables. The hand drawn window décor is impressive and draws in a variety of customers. Although the inside is impressive and inviting, I would HIGHLY recommend that you sit outside to enjoy your coffee, bakery treat and bask in the sunshine.

I ordered an Italian Macchiato with a spritz of caramel from the truck. It’s such a unique experience as you park, walk up to the black 83 emblemed Chevy pickup truck, and order from an elevated barista in the bed.

When I tell you that the espresso tasted as if it was from another planet, I am not exaggerating. It was a sweet espresso - the caramel was almost unnecessary - and it was the silkiest I have tasted in a while. Mixed with milk, this drink is to die for!

With both the delicious coffee and inviting atmosphere, I will definitely be coming back. Thank you, 83 Custom Coffee!
