Need a sip of inspiration? Meet Kim Cheeks. As owner of the cafe, The Chat & Chew, she was eager to be the first to say hello as you walked in. Humbling herself, she took your order, she made your drinks and she brought them to your seat. She didn't see herself as "The Owner", but as a servant and a friend. After talking to her, I discovered she "was the crazy one who quit a steady job to open a coffee shop at 50 years old". She had that passion illuminating from within her. And it didn't just flow from out of her, her passion was integrated into every creation and sip of coffee.
You would smile after hearing her holiday specials and fill with satisfaction. For Valentine's Day, Kim has her infamous 'Yin-Yang' blend of espresso, milk and tea topped with white foam and a chocolate yin-yang as a finishing touch. The other specialty drink, "Love One A'Nutter", was the perfect mixture of mocha and peanut butter. My favorite part? Real JIF peanut butter melted in with the espresso. I loved the authenticity of the drink and her heart poured into it. I was pleased when I ordered a peanut butter espresso drink and it tasted EXACTLY as one would expect. The description said it all! Beyond delicious! I could not praise this shop enough.
If any of you, and I mean ANY of you, want to come and visit, I would love to take you there! Don't worry about it being too much for your wallet; The Chat & Chew Cafe is generously priced. I guess you can't put a price tag on love.
